I have been asked to let visitors to this website know that a copy of Ian Holdsworth's definitive guide to all things YZ, titled, simply, 'YZ', can be viewed in the library at Kew Gardens. That may make the book more easily accessible to those of you who find it difficult to get to the British Library to view the copy there.

There's some good news too for collectors of Howell sticks and canes. Henry Howell's catalogue (produced in the late 1800s/early 1900s), which can also be viewed at Kew, has now been digitised and is available as a free download in different formats from this link.

This is a potentially useful catalogue too for YZ enthusiasts, in that its illustrations may prove helpful in identifying woods used in YZ manufacture. It's well worth a browse anyway, if only to appreciate the beautifully drawn and coloured illustrations and to marvel at the inventiveness of the designs.
